Policy

DOG BOARDING/DAYCARE (Check Closings Before Scheduling)

  • Dogs must be comfortable with men, women, and other dogs in a social setting.
  • Puppies are always welcome as they will learn social skills here.
  • Must be up to date on all shots-Rabies, Distemper Combo, including Bordetella. Proof from a veterinarian must be provided.
  • Your pet must be licensed, and the license number must be entered into your online account. 
  • Please make sure your dog is wearing an ID Tag. Having your dog microchipped before their stay would be ideal. 
  • ​You must enter a microchip number in your online account.
  • Must be completely free of fleas and ticks on arrival and preventatives.
  • A fecal test must be done three months to ten days before the daycare or boarding date. Proof from a veterinarian must be provided.
  • Must be completely free of any contagious diseases/illnesses, including but not limited to kennel cough, skin diseases (mange and such), colds (respiratory infections), and parasites.
  • Must be in good health unless other arrangements are agreed upon in advance. We can medicate your pup while here. Additional charges may apply.
  • Before any service that will take place in the canine home, you will be asked to schedule a meeting with the IOU staff and tour the facility.
  • Before any service that will take place in the canine home, a scheduled dog behavior assessment will be required in some instances. Assessments are done on a scheduled daycare visit without the owner/s. If that is not possible, please have a backup plan before arrival.
  • We do not board dogs with aggressive tendencies or bite history. We do not board dogs with extreme separation anxiety.
  • You are responsible for providing your pet's food, treats, bones, and bedding. There is a slight possibility it may get chewed/destroyed; IOU Pet Care will not be responsible if so. If we must purchase additional food for your pet, you must reimburse the payment to IOU Pet Care upon your return.
  • Your (owner's) responsibility is to pay for any damage to the home caused by your pet. All the rooms your dog/s will have access to have been minimized of any dangerous or valuable objects. However, dogs have sometimes been known to jump or climb to get at things and chew on walls or other dogs' bedding. 
  • We will not be held responsible for injuries, death, or lost dogs if they jump over, dig under, or chew through the fence and get out. We will always do our best to prevent this from happening. 
  • If your dog demonstrates unprovoked aggression towards dogs or people here, we will relocate it to the nearest kennel at your expense with no refund for their full scheduled service here.
  • Male dogs that are not neutered tend to have exaggerated obsessions and sometimes aggressive tendencies when overstimulated. If we cannot control the dog and he cannot calm himself, we will relocate your dog to the nearest kennel at your expense with no refund for the full scheduled service here. Sometimes we can keep the dog here with extra work, but additional charges will be added to your invoice.
  • We do not board dogs that are pregnant or in heat.
  • EXCESSIVE barkers can change the peaceful dynamics here and cause stress to the other dogs and staff. We will try our best to calm the barker, but if there is no change, we have the right to deny future service.

HEALTH ISSUES/INJURIES

 

  • IOU Pet Care will NOT reimburse veterinary charges for contagious ailments such as kennel cough, parasites, etc. Also not reimbursable are vet bills due to scrapes, minor cuts, bruises, and injuries incurred during play or other typical dog activities/play.
  • IOU Pet Care will NOT be held responsible for the death or decline in a dog's health in our care unless it is due to our negligence.
  • If the need arises while your pet is in our care, we will take them to the nearest veterinarian to treat the illness or injury.
  • We will NOT be held responsible if a dog jumps over the fence, digs, chews through, and escapes. We will always do our best to prevent, find, or get the dog back—no refunds for injuries incurred in this situation.

SPECIAL PRICING/DISCOUNTS


  • Available for boarding over one week.

PAYMENTS/REFUNDS

 

  • We accept Local Checks, Cash, Venmo, and Credit Cards. A 5% convenience fee will be applied to the TOTAL amount charged on any credit card.
  • All scheduled services require a deposit of half of the total service charge. You must render payment at the time of booking to hold the dates. Your balance for Boarding must be paid in full upon pick up.  New customers must pay in cash for the first five visits.
  • Daycare must be paid for in Full on the Date of Service. No refunds on cancellations but rescheduling can be made within the same month. No refund or rescheduling if Daycare is canceled on the day of service.
  • A meeting is required for all services whenever possible. Safety precautions are taken for any service we offer, and a behavior assessment for your pet is sometimes needed. Please check the "Services" page for pricing. The payment for the evaluation must be paid in full before the scheduled date. 
  • No refund of 25% of the TOTAL SERVICE CHARGE for any service if canceled less than seven days before the service date. It will be deducted from the deposit, and the remaining balance will be mailed to you. If a deposit is not rendered, you will be billed and the charge will remain in your account. Future services will be declined until the balance has been paid.
  • No refund of 50% of the TOTAL SERVICE CHARGE for Boarding if service is canceled on the scheduled date.
  • No refund (100%) on Daycare canceled on the day of service. You may reschedule within the same month only (weekday only). 
  • Your early return will still be charged at 100% of the original total for ANY scheduled service.
  • Out-of-state customers must pay by Cash or Venmo. No checks accepted.
